Throughout the pandemic, the RRT has focused on our community’s most impacted neighbors and communities. Among vulnerable populations are people that are experiencing homelessness. The challenges for those that are unhoused during a pandemic have been numerous, such as having a decrease in shelter bed availability and unclear messaging on what is COVID-19 and vaccines.
The social service agencies and volunteer outreach groups that assist unhoused neighbors have served on the front lines and needed technical expertise from medical professionals to ensure safely run programs, create socially distanced shelter spaces, provide guidance from COVID-19 infectious disease, and vaccination education.
